Presentation for Field Service

One day when we were out in service Naomi was complaining about how she was bored so I told her that she need to talking at the door and then she wouldn't be so bored so I told her that I would help her learn a little presentation.  So the next Monday I had her over and we practiced a short presentation for her and we watched a movie, Finding Nemo.  The next day in service she did her presentation and now she has been doing it regularly.  It is just one small sentence so that she has got that down I am going to work with her to make it a little longer and hopefully get her to memorize a scripture.  Now she pretends like she is going to read from the bible it is really cute.  It is a good reminder that you are never to young to share in the ministry.

Practicing the presentation.  We sang it because she likes to sing so we sang the presentation it made it more fun for her so she tried hard to remember what she was suppose to say.

Watching Finding Nemo
Before we watched the movie we went to Kris and Elvis's house next door so that she could do a full practice run through but she got super nervous and was to shy to do it in front of him but now she is over her shyness and can do it pretty good.

The Toad that wanted to be a Prince

So last night was a interesting night, I had a unwanted visitor in my bed!

Before I went to bed i heard some noise in my kitchen and I noticed that a toad had gotten in by sneaking under my front door which has about a 2 inch gap between it and the floor.  This has happened before but normally they come in look for bugs and let themselves out so it hasn't bothered me much, but last night was different.  I had got to sleep and then at about 2 am for some strange reason I woke up some and had opened my eyes just in time to see something fly by my head.  At first I was thinking it was just my imagination but then I had moved my had to another part of my pillow and my hand touched something wet and sticking.  That scared me so I got out of bed and turned on the light.  I found this toad sitting very comfortably on my pillows right next to where my head was.  I grabbed the pillow and took it off of my bed and sat it on the floor and he hopped off.  Then I tried to chase him out of my house but he was jumping so high and far that I wasn't making much progress so I grab my garbage can put over the top of him and figured I would deal with him in the morning.
When I was tell my sister about what happened she was like he must have been trying to kiss you so that he could become a prince.  He needs to find another girl for that because I am not ok with that.  This morning I had my neighbor come and take him out of my house and he put him way back in the back part of the property.  Hopefully he won't come back.
I had put off buying something to cover up the gap under my front door but this morning I went to the hardware store and bought something so hopefully this will be the last of the toads coming in my house.

The Toad that wanted to be Prince resting peacefully on my pillow.

The toad covered my garbage.
Though all of this I am surprised that I never screamed and managed to remained pretty calm.   It was a little hard to go back to sleep after that.  At first I didn't want to turn off the lights so I just sat on the edge of my bed for a few minutes and then I was ok and after about an hour I was finally able to go back to sleep.

Saturday Afternoon Visitor/Helper

After I had finished service for the day I was in my house getting ready to wash and I heard a little voice saying Leah and knocking on the door and I opened the door and Naomi was at my door.  She had spent the night at Kris and Elvis's house but Kris wasn't feeling so good she was taking nap so she decided to come see what I was doing.  Since I was getting ready to was I asked her if she wanted to help and she said sure so she helped me do my laundry.  She put the soap in the water and handed me clothes pins and even hung a few things on the line.  It was nice to have a little helper for the day.  So here are a few pics us washing.
Naomi posing for me.  She loves to take pictures and is always ready with a pose.

One of her jobs was to carry the laundry detergent and clothes pins.

As we waited the 15 mins for the clothes to wash Naomi wanted to dance so I put on so music for her and she danced around my place.
Dancing and Jumping
It was nice to have a little helper for a while but tiring to she ask lots of questions but it was nice to have her for a little while.  We are becoming good friends so I am sure she will be over other days also.

Saturday Service

Last Saturday we had service in one of our far out territories.  Since it is rainy season now some of the dirt roads are bad so as we drove to the territory we were not sure if we would be able to drive in or not but fortunately the road was good enough for us to drive on.  Since it had not rained the night before the road wasn't muddy but there were lots of cracks where the rain had eroded part of the dirt.  On the way in this was not problem just required you to drive slow as we go up and down hill picking the best path so the car wouldn't get stuck.  It is always nice to do these kinds of territory because normally the people are all really nice and ask you to sit down and share several scriptures with them and then give them magazines.  Here are few pictures of us preaching.
Doris and Celeste coming back from a house a ways down a little path.

Four of us went down a path together since it is so isolated and we were all sister we stuck closer together.  To get to this house we had to cross a little stream.

The Sanchez's at the bottom of the hill hoping that they don't have to climb it.  The picture doesn't show how big and steep the hill is.
I got about half way up and and then was told that me and my partner weren't going that way but the other way so I had climbed it for nothing.  But as you can see it is steep and there are big craves in the road.  My car couldn't make it up this hill so I had to leave at the bottom of the hill.

The Batista's car also know as Jimmeto made it up the hill no problem it is 4 wheel drive and they are great drives.  Even if the road looks scary they like never get nervous but I guess as they went farther into the territory the road got worse and Br. Batista actually got a little nervous because the road was so bad so I can only image how bad it must have been.  Sometimes walking is the safest thing to do.
Me crossing the little river.
Break time after all of our walking.  I decide to get drinks for the 4 of us.  It cost me $1.35 for 3 cokes and 1 malta, not to bad 4 drinks.  I don't now how I will get back to coffee breaks in the states, the food might be better but can't beat the price here.

Doris and Grenda enjoying drinks after are trek in the jungle.
It was a great morning full of good conversation.  As we were leaving my car was packed full of people because there were only 2 cars for the whole group people were packed in tightly in both cars.  Leaving was a little more difficult because I had to go up some hills to get out.  It was going good at first as I manuvered around the craves in the road but I got to one hill and there were so many craves I couldn't avoid them all so I went for what I thought was the best way which almost worked but when my front tire went down in the craves it could get good grip of the dirt so it started spinning.  Fortunaly I had Annie Batista with me who is always so calm and knows how to drive in these conditions great so she said just back up a tiny bit and you should be able to get of the whole.  So everyone but one sister got out of the car and I back up down the hill a tiny bit and was able to get out of the whole.  If it would have been on flat ground it wouldn't have made me nervous but the fact that I was on a steep hill made me nervous.  I am so happy that Annie was with me and that she was so clam about it.  Jehovah help me stay calm and drive on out no problem.  After that my heart was racing so I was glad service was done for the day.  In the end we all had a great morning and were able to talk to some people and bring praise to Jehovah.
